When we transitioned from Benefit Express to Oracle Cloud, beneficiary designations were not included in the data transfer. So, we are asking everyone to re-enter a beneficiary designation in Oracle using the steps below. (Note: If you've recently named a beneficiary in Oracle, you may disregard this message.)
Mandatory steps to take
1. Log onto Oracle Cloud to enter beneficiary information for:
» Life and AD&D coverage
» $500 MNPS-provided Afterlife Benefit
2. Go to Me > Benefits > Quick Actions.
3. Select "Before You Enroll: Dependents & Beneficiaries."
-
You will see "Your contacts." These are people you previously entered as either dependents or beneficiaries. If you don’t see the person(s) you wish to name as a beneficiary, click the "+" (plus sign) to add them. Note: The start date of the relationship must be January 1, 2026, or earlier.
-
Click "Submit."
4. Return to Quick Actions and select "Change Beneficiaries" to assign your designations to a plan.
-
Select one or more beneficiary for each coverage type under the "Plan and Option" dropdown. They must be listed in "Your contacts" to be assigned as beneficiary.
-
Rules:
- Leave the percentage field blank if not designating as a beneficiary.
- At least one primary beneficiary is required.
- Contingent beneficiaries are optional.
- Total percentages must equal 100%.
-
Click "Submit."
-
Return to the "Change Beneficiaries" page until a beneficiary is assigned to all coverage types listed in the dropdown. Coverage that needs to be assigned a beneficiary will show up in "Pending Actions" on the Benefits page.
If you have an active Life Event open, your steps are slightly different: Go to Me > Benefits > Enroll Now. Select the pencil icon next to each plan to select a beneficiary for each coverage type. Click "Save."
Beneficiary FAQs
Why didn’t my beneficiary information transfer?
We are requiring you to re-enter this information to protect the accuracy of legally sensitive benefit designations. This also helps ensure your designation reflects your most current wishes.
Are my beneficiary elections from Benefit Express lost?
No. Your beneficiary elections from Benefit Express were archived by Employee Benefit Services, but you must re-enter them in Oracle. If you don’t remember who you designated as beneficiary, now is a good time to make a new designation that reflects your most current wishes.
What if I don’t enter my beneficiary in Oracle?
This step is mandatory. You will continue to hear from Benefits until you enter the information.
Who do I contact if I have questions?
Call Employee Benefit Services at 615-259-8607.
What about my TCRS beneficiary?
Your TCRS beneficiary is not impacted by the Oracle Cloud transition, but now is a good opportunity to review and, if needed, update your designation. You can do that here. Click “Login to TCRS Self-Service.”
